I have heard a lot about the Staats-Anzeiger. I want to become a reader and subscriber, since I like what I see.

We are in full swing here making hay, and we received lots of help from the south. People are coming from as far away as 70-80 miles, since things are much worse down south.

Eight days ago we had a good rain and strong storm. Zachäus Bachmeier lost a young colt to a lightning strike. Barnabas Steiert lost his stable. It is a little comfort though, that the rain has more than made up for the losses.

I would like to send a greeting to Georg Jochim in Strasburg, ND and all the readers.
