In Issue #25 of the newspaper, there was a correspondence signed by Joseph Hirsch, who claimed to be my brother-in-law. The correspondence, however, did not come from Hirsch’s hand, but from one of a Pharisee who wrote the report just to instigate arguments among the Staats-Anzeiger family. There will always be such a scoundrel.
I could simply identify the writer by name, but that would not further my self-esteem. Now I would like to know in what relation I am supposed to be the writer’s brother-in-law. Maybe he just wanted to formulate it that one would just as soon think that I was the writer of the lies instead of him. One can identify crooks of his caliber by their fruits. Something good will never come forth from them.
Then the rascal included a list of wedding announcements in which the following were listed as being married: Jos. Ibach with E. Sitter, A. Kopp with R. Heitrich, R. Dirk with E. Volk, B. Hinz with M. Schneider, J. Dirk with A. Steinky, and J. Hittel with K. Hopfauf. Now I just want to mention that all of them are still single and the story, from start to finish, is a lie. However, some did get married here on the 25 November namely, Peter Kopp with Barbara Sitter and Joseph Menges with Celestina Miller.
The weather is cold and on the average we have up to a foot of snow.
A greeting to Brother Zachäus Kopp and sister-in-law Katharina, as well as to all readers and to the editorship.
