On 26 February, we had up to 3 inches of snow, which was greeted by us farmers with happiness.
Now, dear German brothers, on this side and over there, pray diligently to God that our old German fatherland may stay intact, and help with money and goods to take care of the German wounded and provide for their descendants, who give their blood heroically on the battlefields. The Dear God is going to take revenge on all barbarians who forced this war on Germany. They came from all directions to destroy Germany but they were mistaken. The Dear God is just and holds his hand over Germany. It is under His protection.
The Germans have already proved to the world what they can do. They have shown all enemies what they are capable of since the beginning of the war up to today. Already the alleged mighty Russia is now seeing its best and most of its soldiers imprisoned in Germany. And how imposing larger burdens on the Germans in Russia and the way that they are mistreated oppress the Germans! But the time of liberation, I think, is still at hand for them since the Germans are fighting with God’s help everywhere with admirable bravery and have always done so. They are showing the Russians all right where Bartel gets his new wine! The German brothers who are still in Russian hands will most likely soon be all in German hands, if it continues like it has. One wanted to dig a hole for Germany but the attackers are falling into it themselves, or have to take off with empty hands and their backs full of a thrashing. You dear German brothers don’t let the fire go out in your German hearts!
Also, we Germans in a neutral country have to help our German heroes out there through donations to the Red Cross. It is our duty to give as much as we can. We Germans also have to band together more in the United States. Perhaps by a quarrel here sometime, we could be in the same situation. However, may God guard us from that! Naturally, here too the saying goes, “Whose bread you eat, that’s whose song you sing”, but Germany does not allow getting buttered up. The Germans are the most advanced and first as a land of culture in the world thanks to the excellent schools there. Victory has to attach itself to the German flag even if it should cost the last man, “Germany above all in the world!”
I send a greeting to Romuald, Sophia and the Gross children in Canada, as well as to the editorship, all friends and fellow readers everywhere.
