Esteemed Staats-Anzeiger!
I would like to inform my brother Max Boot through the columns of the Staats-Anzeiger that we are still all in good health. Only mother is often sick. If only the mail service to America was better so that one could send letters. (*Editor: That you can do without worries. You also sent letters to us, and we receive many others including those from our local readers, who forward letters they received from Bessarabia. This all stands to prove that the mail service functions fairly well.)
Mr. Zachaeus Kahl is informed that his parents have not yet received the money. Joseph got married. His wife is a daughter of Joseph Volk. The wedding took place on 22 November.
Mr. Anton Witschirik [Wuitschik] is looking for his brother who is a priest. His previous address was Rev. Peter Witschirik [Wuitschik], Sommer Str., New Brunswick, NY.

Worthy Editorship!
I would like to write to our relatives and friends about our current situation here in Krasna. In the forefront at this time, of course, are the weddings. Since there are sufficient adult boys and girls, weddings take place continuously. But also the old tradition to pull a prank on the wedding people has not faded away yet.
For instance, 8 days ago the window along with its frame was torn out of Klemens Ihli’s house. That certainly is not a joke at this time of winter. Everybody knows from previous times where these jokers can be found. Namely, in the area from the mill down to the place of the crippled Mr. Wingenbach. There you will find such, even when they are in a normal frame of mind, who do not know what they are doing, not to mention when such people are slightly drunk.
Further, I want to report that we still have dry weather. Because of that no winter wheat was planted. Therefore especially the poor people are at a disadvantage.
I am asking my brother to write more often. The old grandmother sends her sincere greetings. The parents of Regina Mueller, as well as brother-in-law Johannes Kahl and wife Katharina would also like to receive some news from their loved ones. Two months ago the 21-year old son of the brother-in-law died.
Otherwise, we are all in good health.

Esteemed Staats-Anzeiger!
I have to report about an accident. When Jakob Stolz’s children drove into town, a 10-year old boy was running along side the wagon. While he was trying to get back onto the wagon he tripped and fell and the wagon rolled over him. He suffered severe internal injuries.
The prohibition law went into effect on the 15th of this month. Now the motto is like Cyrillus Haag would say, “Guzzle water like the dear cattle and pretend that it is “Crambambuli”!”

Dear Staats-Anzeiger!
This is to inform my dear mother that all of us are still in good health and that we wish her a Happy New Year.
We send a greeting to Peter Leintz, Dyonisius Dressler, Adam Leintz, Bernhard Leintz, and Kaspar Ruscheinsky along with their families.
I have written several letters already, but they all remained unanswered. Therefore, I am trying to connect through the lines of the Staats-Anzeiger.
I also would like to see a sign of life from my godfather Thomas Volk, as well as from Joseph Volk. I sincerely greet them and also Mr. Anton Gedak.

Esteemed Staats-Anzeiger!
The weather is so nice that for now we have used very little fodder and coal.
We inform our friends in Bessarabia that our mother died on 29 December, 1920. She was just a little over 66 years old. She leaves our father and 8 children along with 22 grandchildren. The funeral took place in the St. Gabriel Cemetery on 31 December, 1920. Father Vincent conducted the funeral service.
I would like to know from Krasna if Peter Wuitschik’s children are still alive.
Jakob Dirk and Korbinian Kahl have visited us.
