Worthy Staats-Anzeiger!
My cousin Peter Loeb has ordered the Staats-Anzeiger for me and I thank him very much for his present. He made me very happy. It would be nice if I could get his address so that I can personally write to him.
Mr. Xavier Baumann is looking for his brother Jakob Baumann. He sends his greetings and is asking him to order the Staats-Anzeiger for him if possible. He doesn’t know anyone else who could get the Staats-Anzeiger for him.
Something strange happened a while ago on Joseph Baumann’s farm. At 9 o’clock at night, a wolf appeared in the courtyard and entered the pigsty. He grabbed a pig by its nose and ripped away the face up to the eyes. The women who arrived beat the wolf so hard that he ran away. He was wandering around in the village for a while and acted very frantic. Presumably he was very hungry.
Other than that there is nothing new to report from here.
Respectfully,
Raphael Loeb
