Worthy Staats-Anzeiger!
In the course of time, I have sent quite a number of personal letters to America to answer many questions that were asked of me. Now I want to give my friend Paulus Wingenbach an answer to his question about his brother Christian through the columns of the Staats-Anzeiger.
Yes dear comrade, your brother is alive and healthy. He visits me often and reads the Staats-Anzeiger here. He has also sent letters to you but has never received a single reply. Your old father and your in-laws are still alive. I heard that Simon is planning to visit. Also Romuald Gross and Jakob Steinke are expected here. There is going to be some storytelling once they are here.
The winter seed does not look good because it did not rain. Now we had a little bit of snow and we hope for more.
I want to inform my brother Max that all of us are still healthy. Also our old mother is still doing well.
The holidays will probably be over by the time you receive this report. Nevertheless, I wish all readers and the editorship a blessed and happy New Year.
My nephew Peter Januscheitis is asked to write.

Worthy Staats-Anzeiger!
Through the columns of the Staats-Anzeiger, we greet our father, as well as our brother-in-law Raimund and our sister Anna Ihli. We wish our father a nice trip home and we hope to see him again soon.
All of us are still healthy but our sister Klara is sickly.
The weather is really nice. Before Christmas, we had about 8 days of cold weather. If the winter doesn’t get colder, we will be able to stand it. Since there has not been enough snow up until now we haven’t been able to use the sleigh.
There is nothing new to report from here.
We are greeting all our friends here and there, as well as the editorship of this newspaper.
