Worthy Staats-Anzeiger!
Since now I have also become a reader of the paper, first of all I want to thank my brother-in-law Michael Volk for the nice present. It is really quite interesting when one can get information about the many friends that we have in America. And I believe that the friends in America feel the same way. They are also happy to hear something from their old homeland, which they couldn’t forget even if they would live to be 100 years old.
I have many friends in Dakota; Michael Volk, August Nagel, Joachim Koch, Karl Wuetschik [Wuitschik]. In Canada, I have my friends Raimund Koch and Anton Sohn. I hope that these people will also write often to the Staats-Anzeiger.
I found the report from my brother-in-law August Nagel. The pictures he sent us by mail did arrive here in good condition. In June of last year, we wrote to him once again but he didn’t mention anything about that. Hopefully, he has received our letter.
I am asking my brother-in-law Michael Volk to let me know how Karl Wuetschik [Wuitschik] and his family are doing.
Further I have to report that it has not rained here to this day. If it should stay dry like this we won’t be able to sow in spring.
In closing, I greet all friends, as well as the readers of the paper and its’ editorship.
Respectfully,
Michael Koch
