Honored Mr. Editor Brandt!
I want to report to you that after the change of address, the Staats-Anzeiger now arrives here regularly. My mailman is also getting better and he brings all my letters, which used to go via Bulboca, directly to my house. That really means something. When I used to have my mail delivered via Bulboca I didn’t receive either letters or newspapers.
In case some of my American friends want to write to me, they can write to the following address: Roumania, Bessarabia, Ind. Tighina, Post Bulboca, Kom.Balmas. We now have a postal connection with Russia and are getting the letters directly from across the Dnjester River.
Since I received a telegram on 3 September from Tarutino informing me that my daughter Perpetua is seriously ill, I find little time to write more today. My wife traveled there on the same day while I have to take care of our small farm.
With a greeting,
Romuald Dirk
