Worthy Editor Mr. Brandt!
While I am mailing you the newspaper fee for another year, I am also enclosing the money for a new subscriber, namely Mr. Rochus Brickner. He has now also joined the large family of readers of the Staats-Anzeiger. (*Editor: We received the $7. We mailed the calendars to you and the new reader. Many thanks and we send a greeting to you.)
Mr. Rochus Brickner and I send friendly greetings to Melchior and Mrs. Brickner, Elias Nagel and family, Rosina Brickner and Katharina Schreiner in Strasburg, North Dakota as well as to Joseph Plotzki and family and other friends.
We have had very cold temperatures, namely 50 degrees below zero. The roads are bad.
Respectfully,
John Plotzki
