Dear Dakota Rundschau:

After a long silence, I would like to send in a report again. On June 9, we welcomed a German cleric in our midst by the name of Emil Kircher born in Germany. We all went to Easter confessions. He left the following day. We had heard a sermon in German and considered it almost a miracle. I had fetched him from the train station. He had promised to come back to us on the 6th, 7th and 8th of September to say Mass again. In return he enjoyed our hospitality.

Our old grandmother, wife of Thomas Herrschaft, is a great cook, and well respected as one of the best wedding cooks. She prepared the special meal. While the priest was here, he also blessed the house of our Lord and our mill. We put up a new cross in front of our church and it was blessed too. To date, we have 15 German families here.

Three days ago, we had a nice rainfall and are busy with the coffee harvest. Johannes, the son of Jakob Weber, is ill and has been sick for four weeks. He is on the mend however. Wendelin Paul is still very ill.

Greetings to Mr. J. Braun and all relatives here and there. Also, to all the readers of this paper and Editor Brendel.
