Dear Editor Brendel:

We are still having nice warm weather which is good for the winter wheat. It was sowed late and the little rain we had should help too.

The following people left for Brazil this morning: Michael Soehn and wife nee Haag and five children. – Maximilian Johannes Dirk and wife nee Menges and two children. Much luck to them in the new homeland.

Bunifontori Ihli, a bachelor died on December 5. He was 40 years of age. May God grant him peace.

The thievery around here continues. Wine was taken from the cellar of Peter Bachmeier. Maximilian P. Dirk had sheep stolen from his barn. No trace of the thieves.

Georg Ternes, Basilius Steiert and Wendelin Ternes had a fight and Georg hit Basilius, his sibling’s child so hard he had to be hospitalized. He is in critical condition. The police picked up Georg and he ended up in the Akkermann jail.

Best wishes for your birthday, Editor Brendel, and many more! Also greetings and best wishes for the New Year to the staff and the readers here and there. (*Editor: Thanks for the kind wishes. Regards from me too!)
