Dear Editor Brendel:
The weather here is just like the farmers ordered it - lots of rain. We should be cutting our rice crop at the end of the month to assure a good harvest. Our second bean crop is planted.
The stork has come to Bernard Herrschaft who has a new addition to the family. Joseph Wingenbach does as well, who has only been in the country ten months.
Joseph Nagel, who came here nine months ago, died on December 14, 1930. He was from Emmental in Bessarabia, Rumania. He left behind his grieving widow and two small children in poverty. The widow is a Loeb [Löb] by birth, daughter of Zelestinus Loeb [Löb]. She cannot go to work with two little children. It would be nice if some of her relatives in America or Canada could help her.
I am looking for word about my uncle, Pastor Joseph Hein and my sister who would be with him. When I left Krasna, they were in Jeremejewka near Odessa. I have not heard from them since.
Greetings to all friends, relatives and readers and Editor Brendel.
