Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

Recently the following couples were married:

Eugenius Ganske, son of Edmund Ganske married Katharina Spitznagel, daughter of Joachim Spitznagel.
Nikolaus Banschenko, son of Gabriel Banschenko married Anastasia Paul, daughter of Joseph Paul.
Peter Marte, son of Albertus Marte married Isabella Ternes, daughter of Markus Ternes.
Jakob Volk, son of Konrad Volk married Adelheid Speicher, daughter of Joseph Speicher.
Widower Georg Furch, son of Adolf married Maria Winter, daughter of Balthasar Winter.
Widower Basilius Steiert, son of Johannes married Martha Bonokowski, daughter of “Stoffel” Bonokowski.
Joachim Kuss, son of Zachaeus Kuss married Irena Plotzki, daughter of Johannes Plotzki.
Karl Leinz, son of Maximilian Leinz married Pilagia Bachmeier, daughter of August Bachmeier.
Peter Soehn, son of Georg Soehn married Theresia Herrschaft, daughter of Kasimir Herrschaft.
Peter Matheri, son of Philipp Matheri married Marianna Schreiber, daughter of Erasmus Schreiber.
Michael Leintz, son of Bernhard Leintz married Gertruda Kuss, daughter of Timotheus Kuss.
Peter Leintz, son of Bernhard Leintz married Katharina Rabinowitz, daughter of Rechert Rabinowitz.
Mathias Soehn, son of Anton Soehn married Anisia Dressler, daughter of Dionisius Dressler.

I attended the wedding celebration of the last mentioned couple as a guest, because Dionisius Dressler is my father-in-law and Bernhard Leintz is my wife Helena’s uncle.

This serves to inform Barnabas and Helaria Volk and their children. At my father-in-law’s, I read in the Staats-Anzeiger the report by Mr. Thomas Haag in Canada and found out that a son of Barnabas Volk had gotten married. Unfortunately, neither the name of the groom nor the bride was mentioned. The brothers and sisters-in-law of Barnabas were all present when I read aloud the report by Mr. Haag. They wish the newlyweds lots of luck in their married life and good health for the parents and their children. My wife and I also send an especially friendly greeting.

We would be very happy if Uncle Barnabas would also become a reader of the Staats-Anzeiger. If he is not a reader of the dear newspaper, then we ask him to join the large family of readers. His brother-in-law Peter Leintz asked me to motivate the “old” one to write once again.

We thank Mr. Thomas Haag very much for his report and hope that he will write often in the Staats-Anzeiger.

Mr. Markus Weber in Siberia, Soviet Russia be informed that his mother and siblings are all still healthy and alive. His mother is still as fit as an 18-year old girl. Mr. Weber, if you would like to know more from your homeland village then please direct your questions to me. I am always at your service.

Sebastian Koch and his wife send a friendly hello to Joseph Mueller and his wife in Canada. They ask Joseph to subscribe to the Staats-Anzeiger for them as a Christmas present.

The health status is satisfactory. The scarlet fever among the children has ceased.

The widow Amalia Mueller, nee Hein died on 8 November. She had suffered from dropsy since May. She was 60 years old.

In closing, I greet the editor Mr. Brandt and his assistants Mr. Haag and Mr. Mauser, all friends and Staats-Anzeiger readers.

Honored Editor Mr. Brandt!

I had asked Leogatha Huettel in Canada to please have the Staats-Anzeiger sent to me. Leogatha is a cousin of my wife Aurora. In that manner, we would find out something from our friends across the big pond. Of course, we would submit news items from this corner of the world.

Last summer, my wife got so terribly sick that I had to take her to the hospital in Tarutino. She had to stay there under doctor’s care for 15 days.

The health conditions among the people leave much to be desired. Scarlet fever still prevails among the small children.

Joseph Harsche, son of Philipp had a job in Tarutino. Now he has disappeared without a trace. Also, the son of Alexander Boot, who worked as a farm hand in Paris, has run away. Where they ran off to no one knows yet.

I send a friendly hello to Johannes Ruscheinsky, Anselmus Wagner and Joseph Ternes in Brazil, as well as to Anton A. Soehn in Canada. I am asking these gentlemen to write in the Staats-Anzeiger again.

In closing, I say hello to the editor Mr. Brandt and his assistant C. J. Haag.

Peter Mueller
