Dear Staats-Anzeiger!
In the previous year, 36 children were baptized and 14 people passed away, among them 10 children and 4 adults. The adults were Reimund Arnold, Elisabetha Plotzky, nee Krams, Faustina Maass, nee Huettel and Alexander Nagel. I received this information from my brother Magnus Seifert who is the sexton.
As mentioned in my previous report, I was hired as cashier in our community store. This is where the mailman delivers the Staats-Anzeiger, which arrives here on time. While the people do their shopping, I have the opportunity to give them the information, which the Americans convey to them.
I just now found out through the report by Miss Anna Moldenhauer in Canada, that her brothers Adam and Caspar caught badgers. While I was reading the article, Appolonia and Nathalia Loeb, daughters of Raphael Loeb, entered the store and I read the report by Miss Anna Moldenhauer to them.
The store is located in Adam Baumann’s house. This place used to belong to Jakob Moldenhauer, father of Miss Moldenhauer. I am asking Miss Moldenhauer to let me know where her brother Zachaeus, my comrade in arms is living.
Further, I want to inform Joseph and Klara Mueller in Canada that your parents and siblings are still healthy.
Last night my neighbor’s child Aurora came to my house to pick up the Staats-Anzeiger, but since I had left it at the store I asked who was waiting for the newspaper. The child replied; “Our grandparents and Uncle Ambros.” I immediately went to the store retrieved the newspaper and gave it to them.
I am informing Rochus and Marianna Paul that Marianna’s mother is still healthy, but that Rochus’s mother is ailing.
This is to inform Daniel and Rosa Huettel that your mother suffers from infirmity of age.
I am letting Thomas Haag in Canada know that his siblings Raphael and Zelestinus Loeb are alive and well. Zelestinus works at the dairy and Raphael runs the butcher shop. They are sending all of you a friendly hello. The undersigned is also sending all of you friendly greetings.
Elisabetha Paul from Misowka is visiting here at the time. She lives with her son-in-law Reinhold Kruckenberg in Misowka where he works as shoemaker. They are very poor.
This is to inform Adam Paul in Strasburg, North Dakota and Simon Paul in Richardton, North Dakota. The latter is supposed to be a pastor there. (*Editor: He is not a pastor but a monk.)
Emil Kopp who is seriously ill is still on the sick list.
