Memorial cross erected in Blankenrath / Hunsrück, Zell, Palatinate, Germany,
by Josef Seifert to commemorate Krasna, Akkerman, Bessarabia, Russia.
Josef born 1903 in Krasna son of Leopold and Ludwina (Weber) Seifert.
The base is concrete in the form of a hexagon -
truncated pyramid, with the height of 1.00 m (3 feet) and the average width of 1.30 m (3.28 feet),
forms the substructure. On it rises the cross 2.75 m (9 feet) high,
with a crossbeam of 1.50 m (4.9 feet).
It is a brown, four-sided cross.
It is a brown, square beam cross made of oak (beam 0.13 m x 0.13 m)
(5 x 5 inches) with spherically decorated ends.
Apart from the bronzed Christ corpus with the inscription INRI,
the instruments of torture, such as a hammer and tongs (0.21 m each) (8 inches),
a spit with attached sponge and a lance (1.05 m each) (3.4 feet),
also a small ladder (0.60 m long) (23 inches)
are made of wood and attached to the cross.
On the front of the concrete base is embedded a plaque that reads:
O, Wanderer stand still
and think of your soul!
