17 March 1912
On 12 January, I sent four rubles* to the Staats-Anzeiger with the request to send me the paper for one year. I had hoped to receive the newspaper within a month. I waited to no avail, but am eager to receive it because everyone has high praise for it. I found out from readers in Krasna that my name was booked and that my subscription had begun with Edition #31, but I have not received it yet.
(*Editor: Indeed, we did receive the amount. Your name appears on our roster since 1 March; in any case, right after your report was dispatched, you received the first copy. Please notify us if you now receive the newspaper. Thank you for the order.)
On 17 March, I was in Krasna on small business matters when I met my Uncle Romuald Dirk, and found that three days before he had moved from Emmental to Krasna.
I am still hoping that I will receive the Staats-Anzeiger soon.
A cordial hello to my brother Peter Januscheitis in Morton County, North Dakota, and to my friends as well as to the entire readership.
