Honored Editorship!
We hope and wish that the Staats-Anzeiger would bring us lots of news in the New Year from our old homeland, especially from Krasna. (*Editor: We received the money. You will get the calendar as a prize.)
On Monday, the priest Anton Kopp arrived from Solen to marry his brother Johannes and Rosina Mueller. Oskar, Paul, Johannes, Karolina and both daughters Angela and Zoelestina were present.
On the 24th of this month, Jakob Mueller, son of Franz from Canada and Margaretha Jochim, daughter of Georg, and also Raimund Soehn, son of Adam and Mariana Richter, daughter of Gabriel will be married.
We have visitors here from Canada. The visitors are Joseph Menges and wife, Hieronymus Schnell and wife, and Vinzens Mueller and wife. Also Peter Helsch and his colleague Christian Braun passed through and asked if the roses were still blooming in the garden. Since that was not the case, they traveled on towards the south.
We have dry weather without snow.
The correspondents from Krasna are being asked to report diligently, but we don’t want to hear anything from their wives since we have trouble enough with our own.
Respectfully,
Johannes Engel
