Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

I just noticed that my subscription has expired. I want to mail the $3 right away so that my name won’t be crossed off. (*Editor: We received the money and reserved the calendar for 1929. We thank you very much and we greet you.)

Since 11 June, we have had nice weather and sufficient rain. The field crops are in great condition and promise a good harvest, but there might be a little less hay from the prairie. The farmers are holding their heads just a little higher now than in spring.

I greet my old neighbor Anton Gedak and want to inform him that his reports are enjoyed here very much. As soon as the paper gets to the house, one first looks to see if there is something in the paper from the home village Krasna. The old neighbor hasn’t written much lately.

I am also greeting my old mother and my siblings in Krasna, my brother Raymond Koch in Canada and all the readers, as well as the editor Mr. Brandt and his assistants.
