From: Montebello, Brazil,
13 December 1929
Honorable Editor Brandt!
I received your letter. I thank you very much for the address of my friend Bonakowsky and for the worthy newspaper. I paid my brother-in-law, Anselmo Wagner, 30 milreis for the Staats-Anzeiger. He will combine it with additional money and send it to you, because Anselmus already understands the Brazilian language a little. (*Editor: We will continue to send you the newspaper, and the calendar for 1930 will arrive as wished. Best greeting.)
Further, I would like to let the readers know, that now the weather here is as desired. Rice and Welsh corn stand splendidly. Here the fields are green everywhere, while in the old homeland they are white.
I thank the honorable correspondents from the old homeland, Krasna, Bessarabia, very much for their reports, which everyone here likes to read.
We are still awaiting the arrival of our father Kaspar Weber.
In closing we greet all readers, as well as the editor, Mr. Brandt.
Anton and Genofeva Weber
