Dear Staats-Anzeiger!
Mr. Pius Soehn in Canada asked us to give him some information about his son-in-law Karl Furch and his brother Joseph Soehn through the pages of the worthy Staats-Anzeiger. According to his information they live somewhere in Brazil. We want to let our friend up north know, that Brazil is a very large country. (*Editor: Yes, it is bigger than the United States.) Our fellow German countrymen are scattered all over this country, and that is why we haven’t heard anything about the people being searched. As soon as we know anything we will make it known.
Again new people from Bessarabia arrived here, namely Joseph and Benigena Weber and Scholastika Keller with her 3 children from Emmental, and Dewald Mueller and Hieronymus Mueller with their families. They are saying hello to all of their friends here and there. They want to let them know that they survived the trip across the big water. They are saying; “We are now in the warm country Brazil. We are healthy but besides that we can't say much yet about the country and the conditions. We are all working together with our son-in-law Joseph Weber.”
Scholastika Keller, nee Goetz is saying hello to all her brothers (Goetz), the brother-in-law and other relatives in Canada. She would like to hear from them by letter or in the Staats-Anzeiger, which as far as she knows is read by them. The same also applies to her brother-in-law Manuel Wolf in Oregon.
What is the reason that the siblings Wagner, Hoerche and Kopp in Argentina don’t write anymore? We send them our best greetings.
In closing, we greet the editor Mr. Brandt and all the readers.
Anselmo and Martha Wagner
