From: Krasna, Bessarabia
7 May 1930
Dear Staats-Anzeiger!
Today, a group of four families departed Krasna to emigrate and find their luck in the praised Brazil. They are:
Joseph Ternes, son of Rochus Ternes with his wife and 8 children;
Mathias Wutschik, son of Lorenz Wutschik with his wife and 5 children;
Anton Kuss, son of Franz Kuss with his wife and 3 children;
Theodor Nagel, son of Michael Nagel with his wife and 5 children.
The farewell was as difficult for the departing as it was for their relatives staying behind.
I send a sincere greeting to Mr. Alexius Fenrich and his family in Izabel, Brazil. I ask him to be of assistance to the new arrivals in every respect. We send our greetings to all of them. Your relatives here, Mr. Fenrich, are all in good health and also send their greetings.
On Easter Saturday, 19 April, the old widow Thekla Volk died here after a long and severe illness. Her funeral was on the first Easter day.
Susanna Hintz, nee Harsche also departed this life on 3 May. She was buried last Sunday. She too was severely ill for a long time. May the dear Lord give them eternal rest and comfort their bereaved families!
I am sincerely returning the greetings to the gentlemen Jakob and Joseph Ziebart as well as Mr. Ignatz Ihli in Canada. At the same time, I am asking them to write more often in the Staats-Anzeiger.
I like to mention that Dionisius Dressler is a very competent butcher.
With greetings to all,
Isidor Leinz
