7.3 Krasna Immigrant Families

There were four groups of immigrant families: See also 1.3, The Origin of the German Colonists of Bessarabia

a) German Origin Warsaw Colonist

Names (varied spellings)

b) Polish Origin Immigrants

c) Immigrants from other Bessarbian Colonies

d) Colonists from Odessa Colonies ca 1840

Comparing the names of the immigrants with the names of the resettlers in 1940, one can note differences. Some names disappeared entirely, new names were added. There are several reasons for this. Over the 126 years of the existence of the German village of Krasna, several families died out. There were people moving in and some moved out. Some families simply changed the spellings of their names.
