7.9 Church dignitaries

From the time of its foundation, Krasna was an independent parish with its own priest. During Krasna’s existence it belonged to three dioceses, in succession.

Colonist sons of Krasna who were consecrated as priests

After the priesthood seminary opened in Saratov, Krasna colonists went there to study and become priests. The first Krasna priest ordained was Peter Müller in 1882. The following were Krasna priests: Kaspar Ruscheinsky, Joseph Hein 2) Theobald Kopp, Johann Furch, Karl Söhn, Albert Weber, Kaspar Bachmeier, Philip Leinz

Nuns from Krasna

During the 126 yearlong history of the community of Krasna, 18 girls became nuns.

From 1908 until 1919 he headed the parish of München/Odessa. He was persecuted by the Bolshevists from 1919-1923 and had to remain in hiding in the homes of the faithful. He died in 1930 from the stress of persecution and illnesses sustained during the persecution. (Erker, page 58)
