I have been a reader of this paper for some time and I like it best of all other publications. My neighbor brought it to me from the post office recently. I read it immediately.
I found a note from Michael A.Volk concerning the building of our church. Michael, our church building is making progress, regardless of how you and others would like it. Such enterprises go as the majority dictates. It cannot be done any other way, so do not take offense, Michael!
Greetings to all,

My first report made it well enough and was published in the paper. It gave me the encouragement to send a new reader to the paper as well. (*Publisher: The newspaper was mailed promptly and the thank you present consists of an Our Blessed Lady calendar. Thank you much, dear friend!)
I would like to ask my friend M. Miller in Canada whether bachelor life is agreeing with him as poorly as with me. Perhaps he is better at it since he has been at it a bit longer than I and is an old hand at housework. Dear friend, you have probably already memorized the cookbook. Not I, dear friend, it looks grim here!
Greetings also to Philipp Weissbeck in Canada, Franz Baumstark and Peter Mitzel in Zeeland, North Dakota and the reader circle as well.
