Worthy Staats-Anzeiger!

The people here are all done with the planting of the corn. Many have already started making hay. We have also started doing that.

In other respects, there is not a lot of news to report from here. A young man from here broke his arm while driving a car. A former salesman from Woodland committed suicide by drinking from a bottle of carbolic acid. The doctor was not able to help any more.

I am surprised that the people in North Dakota receive $.17 more for cream. Here the price is $1.10 for 100 pounds of milk. In the past the price here was already $2.50.

In my previous correspondence, I should have said Mrs. Nikolaus Schmitt was sick for 3 months instead of 33, and my brother-in-law’s name is not Friedrich but Joseph.

I am greeting all friends and acquaintances in North Dakota and in the old homeland.

Respectfully,
Michael Erker
