Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

I kindly ask you to publish the following lines in the columns of the esteemed newspaper. I would like to find out through the Staats-Anzeiger, which is read near and far, where the following people are living: Pankratius Alwinger, son of Peter Alwinger, previously living in Portland, Oregon. His parents here are searching for him. Kosmos Kunz and wife Anna, previously living near Haynes, North Dakota. (*Editor: They still live there.) Gotthold Rueb who originated from Sarata. He used to live in Coleharbor, North Dakota. His sister Lydia is looking for him. She lives in Krasna in a state of poverty. If her brother has the resources then he is being asked to please provide her some assistance.

Should the aforementioned people read these lines then they should please write.

Peter and Elisabetha Alwinger

Worthy Editor Mr. Brandt!

It is the duty of every reader to pay for the paper ahead of time, and I will now fulfill my duty. (*Editor: We received the $3. The calendar was mailed. Thank you very much and we greet you.) I should have sent the money sooner but our bank in Selfridge went out of business.

This is to inform the community near Porcupine that we had a community meeting on Sunday, 23 January. Everything went smoothly and everyone was agreeable. Whether everything stays the way it was decided at the meeting, still remains to be seen.

Hopefully, all went peacefully with you too. What happened here I can only tell the person who writes to me.

Respectfully,
Philipp Erker
