Dear Staats-Anzeiger!
I am a little late with this sad news because I should have made this public a while ago. The circumstances were such that I wasn’t able to do so.
Now I don’t want to wait any longer to inform our friends that suddenly and unexpectedly Mr. Maximilian Winter passed away on *20 July. Once again, one can say death approaches the human being fast.
Mr. Winter and his wife, brother-in-law Philipp Zacher and his wife from Selfridge, North Dakota together made a visit at Albunis Hintz, who lives in the area near Brisbane. On the drive home, Mr. Winter experienced pain in the heart area. When they were only ½ mile away from their farm, his condition worsened so that he couldn’t steer the car any more. They were barely home when Mr. Winter died.
Almost 20 years ago, the deceased and his family came to this area from Krasna, Bessarabia. They bought a home where he lived until his death. The deceased reached the age of almost 45 years. He left a deeply grieving wife and 8 children. There are 3 sons and 5 daughters. The oldest son Melchior is married.
On *21 June, there was a Catholic burial at the St. Gertrude cemetery. He was taken to his grave with a large attendance. May he rest in peace! (*Editor: We are sending our heartfelt condolences to the mourning family.)
Wendelin Kopp is on the sick list. He has been suffering with rheumatism for a long time. On top of that he developed dropsy making his condition very bad. However, we hope that God will help to get his health back so that he can be with his family for many years to come.
With a greeting,
Michael J. Nagel
