Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

Even though we have started the New Year, everything is still the same. The church elders are still the same; also the village mayor and the sexton were re-elected. But Michael Kopp is now the bookkeeper and Emil Kopp is the herdsman for the village. There were no other changes in the various official duties.

Rochus Paul gave up his job in the community store and Karbus Maas was elected instead. Rochus Paul, who intends to immigrate to Canada, has already sold his property. Now he is waiting for a free ticket. He sold his farm to Philipp Brauer for 30,200 lei. In case he shall arrive over there in one piece, he will tell you much news from here. He is also going to tell you a lot about the immense poverty here.

I am thanking Mr.Joseph Keller for the greeting he sent to me through his brother-in-law Maximilian. I have to tell you that your brother-in-law Maximilian Dirk would love to also read the Staats-Anzeiger. He would be very grateful if you would pay for the paper for him for 1 year. Along with this letter Maximilian also sent a letter to you. I send many greetings to you and Mr. Keller.

Twice I have asked Johannes Plotzki to order the Staats-Anzeiger for his brother for 1 year, but it was in vain. I once again ask him to grant his brother’s wish. Leonhard would be very happy about that present.

I am not hearing anything anymore from my old neighbor Joseph Miller in Canada. The letter you sent to your brother-in-law Alexander, I read and I also looked at the pictures. I had picked up the letter from the post office.

Johannes Gross is asking Mr. Schreiner not to send him a different paper, but the Staats-Anzeiger. The other American newspaper that Mr. Schreiner ordered for him arrives here seldom and there is nothing of interest to him in the paper.

I am asking Adam Miller to order the Staats-Anzeiger. I am greeting him and all his siblings kindly.

Anna Miller is sending a greeting to her children Daniel and Rosa Hittel.

Mr. Editor Brandt, I thank you very much for the 660 lei and the nice calendar for 1929.

Wendelin Seifert died at the age of 54 years. May he rest in peace!

With a greeting,
Adam Seifert
