Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

Yesterday, a child born out of wedlock was buried here. It had died right after the birth. The mother is Magdalena Bullach, daughter of the deceased Georg Bullach. The girl is an orphan, who worked as a domestic in the Banat recently. This is where she got pregnant by a scoundrel. Since Christmas, she has been living with her brother Franz Bullach, who has nothing to eat for his family and himself. Now his sister is a burden to him as well. That’s how it goes when children run around in the world without parents and fall into the hands of unscrupulous people.

Joseph Boehler and his son Michael are on the sick list. My father Johannes Moser has been bedridden for a week. He suffers from rheumatism and was supposed to have taken a medical treatment, but there is no money for that. The medicines and the doctor are very expensive.

Joseph and Lutzia Ternes, nee Schaefer in Krasna, Bessarabia would like to hear from their friends Daniel and Kaspar Lacher and Nikolaus Schaefer in America. Johannes Bullach, son of Jakob visited me very early this morning and lamented about his dire need. All his children are married, except for two crippled children who cannot work. He greets his godfather Joseph Knauer and asks why he doesn’t write. He would be grateful to his godfather if he could send him a little support through the Staats- Anzeiger.

My father-in-law Joseph Meier would like to find out if his brother Franz Meier in Nowo-Nikolajewka, Soviet Russia is still alive. My father-in-law is already 75 years old and he is sickly.

The following people from here want to immigrate to Canada.

My brother Rochus and my sister Aloisia;
Johannes Merck and his brother Sebastian;
The brothers Anton, Sebastian and Joseph Roth ;
Rosa Bachmann who is single;
Nikolaus Bullach, son of Anton;
Andreas Bullach, son of Johannes;
Valentin Roth and his sister Marianna;
Vinzenz Volk and others.

Georg Bullach, son of Johannes, the widow Johanna Schell, the widow Annamaria Bender and her son Johannes were held back because of bad eyes.

Since we have the new government, the postal service has gotten much better. The Staats-Anzeiger arrives here on time and is enjoyed by everyone. As soon as it gets here it goes from house to house. The friends over there should order the Staats-Anzeiger for their relatives so that they don’t have to borrow it. The Staats-Anzeiger brings us news from all over the world.

In closing, I greet the editor Mr. Brandt, as well as all the readers.

Sebastian Moser
