Dear Editor Brendel:

I am happy to report that the wonderful rain we had brought up the winter crops nicely. Lorenz Riehl passed away on October 31 and was buried November 1st. He left behind his wife and two bachelor sons. One of his sons, Adolf Riehl, is in Raleigh, North Dakota and this serves to inform him (of the death). May the deceased rest in peace.

Viktor Nagel sends greetings to his friends - Johannes Nagel in Petrel, North Dakota as well as Josef Erker from there, his nephews Michael and Georg Nagel in Raleigh, North Dakota. He wants them to know that he and his family are doing well. He would like to get a year’s subscription to the Dakota Rundschau and sends his thank you in advance. The Rundschau arrives regularly whereas other publications do not.

Marriages of October 29: Maximilian, son of Kornelius Koch and Faustina, daughter of Peter Franz Kuss – Balthasar Kahl, son of Johannes, and Eugenia Ternes, daughter of Zachaeus [Zachäus] – Maximilian Ternes, son of Zachaeus [Zachäus] and Magdalena Soehn [Söhn], daughter of Anton. We wish the young couples luck.

Sebastian Koch informs Josef Mathias Mueller [Müller] that his mother received the money from him, 1,677 Lei, but no letter with it. They are not sure whether his address is Estevan or Kingsford. Mr. Koch sends greetings to Raimund and Joachim Koch and to his brothers in North Dakota. He asks them to send him the Dakota Rundschau for a year. He thanks them in advance. He and his family are fine.

The children of Jakob Gedak, sons Johannes and Michael, and daughter Rufina send greetings to their Uncle Karl Riehl and family. They would love to hear some news and ask for a year’s subscription to the Dakota Rundschau.

Joseph Braun
