Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

Two Saturdays ago on 12 July, a severe storm swept across Krasna and the surrounding area. Georg Schreiber at the time was on his farmland in the Schaager Valley. He stated that he had never seen the likes of such weather.

After long and extreme suffering Katharina Paul, nee Bippus, died on 17 July of stomach cancer. This serves to inform her brother Johannes Bippus in Bircham, Alta., Canada.

His letter with the pictures arrived here on the day of her death, however she was already unconscious. Her surviving children relay their sincere thanks and greetings.
