We have good weather here and the grain looks good. On the average, it is three feet tall, but there are many crippled heads and we do not know what causes it. People are all involved in odd jobs all over. One is building a stable, another is building a house, another is working on his summer fallows, etc. Personally, I am hauling wood for winter already. Last year, I ran short of fuel, and many others did too. We had to go into the woods in extreme weather and cut wood. It was a lesson well learned; now I am hauling enough to last!
Issue #29 contained a letter written by my brother Zachäus Kopp of Emmental in South Russia, an area of great interest to many readers and me. We hope that he does not leave us hanging too long between letters!
In Issue #48, Thomas Ihli is looking for the address of his brother Peter. His address is Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada. (*Publisher: Due to the changes of address, we already wrote to you that we have taken care of it.)
Thomas Haag has moved to his land and is thinking about farming.
I am sending kind regards to all friends and acquaintances in the old homeland, especially to my brother Zachäus and brother-in-law, Melchior Weber.
