Worthy Staats-Anzeiger!

It was a great joy to me to read the report from “A Farmer” in the paper. We are also from Emmental and have not heard anything from there in 4 years.

It certainly is a hard time for the people in the old homeland, since they have to pay such enormously high prices for everything they buy, but here too everything is much more expensive than what it was before the war. But we can still be content.

The weather is very nice. If February continues like this, we will be quite satisfied. January was terribly cold so that the mercury sometimes dropped to 50 degrees below zero. We had much snow this winter and the way it looks, we will have a good harvest this year.

I am greeting all relatives and friends in the old homeland. I have tried several times to send letters to relatives and friends over there but the letters always came back.

In November, Adam Moldenhauer, son of Jacob, was married to Anatolia Brückner, daughter of Rochus, and Rochus Seifert to Luzia Schreiber, daughter of Nikolaus.

Respectfully,
Mrs. Johannes Plotzki
