Worthy Staats-Anzeiger!

We are finished here with the seeding. Now we are lacking rain. All of April we haven’t had any rain and today everything is still dry. We have plenty of moisture from the winter in the soil. If that weren’t the case, our seed would have already suffered.

I would like to inform Mr. Joseph Ziegler in Francis, Saskatchewan, Canada that I read the lines in the letter to Joseph Keller. Many thanks for all the greetings from friends and readers of the Staats-Anzeiger that were extended to me. I hope to continue to fulfill the wishes of many readers.

School was over on 25 April and now I can be away more from the school and be among people where more talk is about happenings in the world.

On 23 May, many people are coming to Emmental from far and near to celebrate the Feast of the Blessing of the Church and the feast of First Communion, which is held by the reverend Bishop Kessler. There I hope to meet many friends and later on report to the readers about it.

I have often been asked in newspaper reports and also in letters who the correspondent “A Farmer” is. I couldn’t give you an answer as yet since I don’t know it either. I assume that he is from Krasna and I want to maintain that I am not wrong with my suspicions of which the correct person is. I can’t mention the name until I am convinced that he is the right person. Just leave him alone whoever he might be. You can tell from his reports that he is telling the truth and that is the main thing.

I am heartily greeting my children Ignatz and Amalia Gross, my nephew Peter Januschaitis and his wife and also the readers.

Romuald Dirk
