Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

The health conditions for now are not the best. A bad disease dominates among the people. Two of Gabriel Gedak’s grown children died today of the disease. There are still many people sick in the village. The doctor says that typhoid is rampant among the people. My neighbor Blasuis Kopp and the widow Elisabetha Erker, nee Dressler is also sick. Their recovery is doubtful. This serves to inform friends in America.

The mailman delivered Edition #34 and #35 today. I also read the report by Mr. Joseph Foeth from Brazil in Edition #34. He wrote that an individual from Krasna who is residing there had intended to earn “a red skirt” because of 117 milreis (Brazilian money). Mr. Foeth should you read these lines then I ask you to let me know the name of the man in question. I believe that the initials of his name are A. F. Shortly before his departure this person acted in a similar way.

I further would like to ask you to let me know if Philipp Soehn who originates from Krasna is living in your vicinity. What other people from Krasna reside in your area?

Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

Today I do not have any special news items to report. Therefore, I want to carry out several orders.

Kasimir Bleile, son of Joseph asks the following friends for assistance: Kasimir Kupfer, son of Bastian; Anna Balthasar, Franziska and Genofeva and Simon Bleile. This man is in great poverty. The money can be forwarded through the Staats-Anzeiger. He expresses his thanks in advance.

Bolokarbus Maas asks his brother Elias Maas to purchase the Staats-Anzeiger for him for 1 year. He loves to read the paper. Elias, please do not deny your brother’s request.

Zachaeus Kopp, son of Simon asks his brother Wendelin and his two brothers-in- law to please send him the money they had promised. He wanted to buy two horses. At this time, he doesn’t have a horse or a cow and he has a house full of children. He is faring very badly. The money can be forwarded through the Staats-Anzeiger, because this is the safest and fastest way.

Elisabetha Hittel who lives here has asked me to announce in the Staats-Anzeiger that her daughter Faustina was married to Magnus Maas. Since letters very often are lost, she is asking her son Edmund to report in the Staats-Anzeiger. Edmund, if you can then give your young brother-in-law a gift by subscribing to the Staats-Anzeiger for him, he would be very happy.

Kaspar and Marianna Gross ask her brother Anton and father Mr. Schell in Brazil to please show a sign of life via the Staats-Anzeiger. They would also be happy to receive mail from them. Perhaps Joseph Foeth will be so kind and forward these lines to them.

Ewald and Margaretha Loeb, nee Wald and daughter of Sebastian Wald, originating from Selz, are looking for Annamaria and Regina Wald. The two had immigrated to the United States as single girls. It is not known to whom they now may be married. Their mother Scholastika has married Joseph Mueller. They are in great need and ask the aforementioned people for help. They would also like to have their addresses. The two are daughters of Thomas Wald.
