Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

Through my dear brother-in-law Raphael Ruscheinsky in Brisbane, North Dakota, I too became a reader of the highly regarded paper. Now I want to write a few lines from the old homeland. I can also tell you that I did receive the beautiful calendar for 1927 from the editor Mr. Brandt. My sincere thanks go to my brother-in-law and the editor. The Staats-Anzeiger arrives here very much on time.

Furthermore, I am informing my brothers-in-law Raphael and *Marzalinus that my wife and I have separated. She is working in Karamurat and I in Coliagre. Two friends of mine and I have bought a machine which makes tiles. With it we produce cement tiles. I may be separated from my wife but we still get along.

I am already 56 years old, but never in my life did I celebrate Easter three times in 1 year. This year it did happen. I celebrated the Turkish feast of Easter on 17 April, the Catholic one and on 24 April, the Rumanian Easter holiday.

Should my brother-in-law *Marzelinus Ruscheinky read these lines, then I ask him to send me a letter once again.

Katharine Schmierer asks her brother Franz Schmierer to please subscribe to the Staats-Anzeiger for her.

With a greeting,
Philipp Wagner

Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

I would like to inform Mr. Joseph Hittel in Canada that his mother Susanna Engel has been bedridden because of an illness since the fall of 1926. She is suffering from old age. She does not suffer any deprivation, because your brother-in-law Anton is a well-to-do man.

I can also inform Joseph and Klara Mueller in Canada that their parents and siblings are enjoying good health. Otherwise, they are faring well also.

I am letting the editor Mr. Brandt know that I have received his letter for the attorney Mr. Loeb and that I delivered it to him immediately. He was very happy about it and wrote to his friend Joseph Hilzendeger.

Not too long ago Jakob Plotzke killed a huge wolf that had torn apart 12 sheep belonging to a Russian.

Further, I thank Mr. Reiter in Kandel for the information he has given me through the Staats-Anzeiger.

I can tell Georg Lehmer that his sister Franziska currently resides in the “Banat” where she has a job.

This year we can also praise our sexton, because on Good Friday he had his choir sing the passion. It was very nice. He acted as the evangelist, Joseph Paul as Jesus, Ewalt Loeb was the high priest, Magnus Kopp took the role as Peter, Melchior Hein was Judas, Nathalia Loeb was the maid and Elisabetha Loeb was the woman.

With a greeting,
Adam Seifert

Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

I became a reader of this paper because of my Uncle Jakob Ereth in Montana, and I am grateful to him for that.

My Uncle Mathias Ereth and your brother Jakob came to visit me as I was writing this report. He told me that he had received a letter from you yesterday. He and his family are still healthy, but he has a lot of community work to do, since he was elected mayor. He is also very involved with the construction of our church. Your brother intends to write you personally.

Today, I also visited your parents who go to see my grandparents. They instructed me to tell you that they are still in good health.

At the time, brother Joseph is in the military stationed in Bucharest. His mother grieves over him because being a military policeman he has to serve one year longer than his comrades.

The parents have a difficult time because of their age and not having anymore workers. Ignatz is planning to build his own home this year and therefore will move away from his parents’ house. That leaves only Stephan with them, but because of his young age he is not much help. Joseph still has two more years to serve.

They send you their heartfelt greetings and ask you to please write more often. My mother-in-law and I also send you our warmest greetings.

Further, I also greet my brother and inform him that I did receive his letter. Through his letter, I found out that his wife had to undergo surgery and I am sorry about that. A few days ago brother-in-law Joseph Kost and I dispatched a letter for you.

With a greeting,
Friedrich Mack
