Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

Currently, we have very cold weather with a little bit of snow. We should get more snow, which would be of great benefit to the winter wheat, because the severe cold is hard on it.

I greet my old schoolmate C. J. Haag, assistant editor of the Staats-Anzeiger. I wish him all that is good. I was happy to have heard from him again.

I am informing my brother-in-law Raphael Steinke and sister Nathalia in Canada that we are still alive and well. We regret very much that they do not answer our repeated letters. We would be very grateful to the brother-in-law and sister if they would order the Staats-Anzeiger for us. I like to read the Staats-Anzeiger, which Adam Seifert receives here regularly. In it one can read about many news items from all parts of the world. Our sincere thanks in advance.

Further, I ask my brother-in-law to let me know where my brother Bongratius Alwinger is currently residing. He should please let himself be heard from. For years now I have not had any information from him. Should he not be a reader of the Staats-Anzeiger, then the neighbors are asked to draw his attention to these lines.

Herewith I greet all readers and the editor Mr. Brandt.

Kaitan Alwinger
