Honored Editor Mr. Brandt!

A month ago, we received newcomers from Rumania, namely Joseph Weber, his wife and child and his mother-in-law Scholastika Keller with her 3 grown children. They are from the village Manschepunar and arrived here in good shape. The young Mr. Weber barely had a roof over his head when his wife bore him a son, a true Brazilian. Mother and child are doing fine. Eleven days after the birth, the little boy was baptized in the church in Linz. The godfather is Anton Drefs. The godmother is Martha Wagner, wife of Anselmus Wagner. There was a big celebration after the baptism. Eleven families took part in the celebration. There was no lack of food and drinks.

I am thanking Editor Brandt for the nice calendar, which I just now received.

Further, I am thanking the correspondents in Krasna, Bessarabia for the information about the death of my grandfather Martin Weber. May he rest in peace!

We are also greeting our parents and siblings in the old homeland. We want to let them know that all of us are still healthy.

Further, I greet my friends Kornelius and wife Ottilia Bonokowsky near Raleigh, North Dakota. I have already written them four letters, but have not had a reply. (*Editor: We received the money. The newspaper is paid until November 1930. I thank you and greet you.)

Wendelin Paul is on the sick list. He has been unable to work for three years. He suffers from lung disease.

In closing, I greet all readers as well as the editor Mr. Brandt.

Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

We are asking the editor Mr. Brandt to continue to send us the paper since we want to remain readers. We also want to order the Staats-Anzeiger for my brother Reinhold A. Soehn in Braila, Rumania. (*Editor: The newspaper will be sent to you and also to your brother. Your brother will also get the calendar.)

I work for Gabriel Soehn, son of Anton. I am helping him with the seeding. As compensation he seeds 30 acres of wheat for me. So far we are quite satisfied with our situation in Canada.

In closing, we are sending greetings to all our friends, especially the ones over there in Krasna, Bessarabia, whose reports we enjoy reading.

Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

In my report dated 3 April, I made a small mistake. It should not have read that Joseph Wagner works for his brother-in-law Rochus Brueckner, but he works for our neighbor Rochus Brueckner. Now Anselmo will be satisfied, since my brother doesn’t have a brother-in-law in Canada.

I send a greeting to Mrs. Klara Miller and ask her to write again sometime.
