Dear Staats-Anzeiger!

I want to write once again to let our friends know that we are still alive.

I found out through the Staats-Anzeiger that my brother’s child had died namely, Basilius Steier’s wife from Krasna, Bessarabia. We are very sorry that we have lost so many of our friends in such a short time. It is hard for the young man with his four children to live in such poverty. We convey our heartfelt condolences to them. Thank you Mr. Severin Becker for the information.

Today we are celebrating a wedding here. A son of Barnabas Volk is getting married to the daughter of Valentin Weber, who originates from Rastadt. There will certainly be a good dinner and the undersigned is sorry that he is so far away from it.

I am greeting my brothers-in-law Rafael and Celestinus Loeb in Emmental, Bessarabia. I am asking them to write in the Staats-Anzeiger.

Rochus Paul is also greeting all his friends, especially the old mothers. He complains that they don’t write anymore. He lives like a bird in hemp when the seeds are all gone.

We are greeting Adam Seifert in Emmental and we thank him for writing once again. He should reach for his pen more, since we are always happy when we hear something from the old homeland.

We send a greeting to Mr. Joseph Foeth in Brazil and ask him to give us some information about how Celestina Nagel, widow of Joseph Nagel and her two children are doing. Many thanks in advance.

I am greeting the editor Mr. Brandt and all readers.

Thomas Haag
