I have been studying the history of Orzechowo for several years and am also interested in finding information about who lived in this village. So far I have found information about the population of Orzechowo in 1905, which shows that 32 out of 540 inhabitants were Protestant. It can be assumed that they were Germans.

After 1919, when Wielkopolska was annexed to Poland, almost all the Germans left the region.

I am not a historian by profession, but for some years I have been trying to discover and document the history of the place where I live.

Until 1924, Orzechowo belonged to the parish of Dębno nad Warta, which was part of the diocese of Poznań. From 1924 to 1972, Orzechowo was part of the parish of Czeszewo. Since 1972, together with the village of Pięczkowo, it has been a parish in its own right, belonging to the Archdiocese of Gniezno.

In the materials available to me I found information that around 1890 - 1900 the following German families lived in Orzechowo.
R. Lucke, Beger and Schtein (in Polish spelling Sztajn) Two houses of these families are still in Orzechowo after numerous changes. In 1894 the German Krams built a sawmill, which was later bought by Hauff. In 1922 the sawmill was bought by a Pole, Bolesław Bystrzycki.

I enclose a postcard from Orzechów with R. Lucke's house and the sawmill.
