2.3.2 Emigration 1802 - 1805 to New East Prussia

New East Prussia was created after the Third Partition of Poland (1795) and roughly comprised the historical voivodeships of Podlaskie and Mazovia between East Prussia and the rivers Memel and Bug. The province existed until 1806 after the defeat of Prussia by Napoleon.

King Frederick William III of Prussia encouraged German immigration from non-Prussian states. Among the immigrants were the Krasna settlers: Riehl, Ritz, Rückert, Ressler?, Mers.
