Honored Editor Mr. Brandt!
I would like to get some information through the Staats-Anzeiger to my in-laws Ignatz and Klara Ihli, nee Ternes who live in Canada, since our letters to them seem to be getting lost. We would like to let the in-laws know that we received a letter from them today and we were very happy about it. We are also very grateful for the letter. (*Editor: Your address was sent to your in-laws in the form of an envelope.)
In regard to the parents’ question, we would like to let them know that we had already repaid the owed $16 to Mr. Markus Soehn in Bremen on 3 August of the previous year. Since you had not heard any details about that I am mentioning it once more in the paper. Now everything is in order.
It was an unbelievable joy for us to read in the letter that you bought a house and land for us in Canada. Now we only lack the funds for the passage. Hopefully, with your help and the help of our good friends, we will soon be able to take off for Canada, which has been our ardent wish.
We are still healthy and will start with the coffee harvest in the next few days. We are done with the corn harvest.
In closing, we greet the editor Mr. Brandt, our parents and also the rest of our friends.
Alexander and Theresia Becker
